We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Housing Disrepair Claims Paralegal to join our legal team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our solicitors by preparing legal documents, and ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently. This position requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in various office software.
Responsibilities
Assist solicitors in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by gathering relevant information and documentation.
Conduct legal research to support case preparation and provide summaries of findings.
Draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and correspondence.
Maintain accurate records and files for ongoing cases, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters.
Utilise software applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook to manage schedules and documents efficiently.
Organise case files and manage deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing office supplies.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role within a legal environment focused on Housing Disrepair Claims is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with strong IT skills.
Excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines consistently.
A keen eye for detail and accuracy in all work produced.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
