Paediatric Translational Research Manager (ECMC)

Location: Stratford, London (High flex \xe2\x80\x93 we\xe2\x80\x99d expect you to be in the office 1 to 2 days a week)

Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week (flexible working requests will be considered)

Salary: \xc2\xa337,000 - \xc2\xa341,000 pa per annum (depending on experience)

The Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC) Network is a UK wide network of centres that conduct early phase trials and associated translational research. The Programme Office is housed by CRUK and supports the network in a variety of ways.

The ECMC network is made up of 17 adult centres and 12 paediatric locations across the UK. Each ECMC has unique and world leading expertise within early phase clinical research. Collaboration across the ECMC network gives us the edge in generating new treatments for cancer.

What will you be doing?

The ECMC Translational Research Manager is responsible for facilitating the development and delivery of the ECMC Paediatric Network\xe2\x80\x99s scientific strategy, including managing the procurement and set-up of a strategic data platform. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work with the wider ECMC programme office team to develop network wide data and translational research initiatives within paediatric cancers.

Key duties include:

Work with the ECMC Translational Research Lead and Head of Research Data Strategy to support the procurement and ongoing management of the ECMC Paediatric Network Data Platform, delivering a key resource to the Paediatric Oncology community.

Support the development of the correct governance, data access and consent mechanisms for the ECMC Paediatric Network data platform and ECMC Data initiatives to ensure alignment with best practice.

Work with the ECMC Regional Relapse Discussion Panels to ensure that all children with relapsed cancer are discussed, and their data collected to support future clinical decision making.

Working with key stakeholders, continue to develop a comprehensive scientific approach for the Paediatric Network, with an associated delivery plan.

Support the ECMC Paediatric theme leads to develop and deliver key programmes for paediatric clinical trial development, immunotherapy and pharmacology within the network.

Support the Translational Research Lead to develop data initiatives across the ECMC Network, establishing working groups, and exploring data sharing best practice to ensure the facilitation of data use in the ECMC Network.

Support the ECMC Industry Engagement team, where needed, to work with partners to bring early phase clinical trials to the ECMC Paediatric Network and to ensure that solutions for acceleration study start up and decentralising clinical trials are deliverable within the paediatric cancer ecosystem.

What skills are we looking for?

Experience of delivering strategic projects which involve external stakeholders.

Experience of building relationships with stakeholders internally and externally and acting diplomatically to influence effectively and build consensus.

An understanding of using governance processes within initiatives.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to recognise the needs of the audience.

An ability to deal with sensitive information in a professional way.

Strategic thinking skills with the ability to develop operational plans.
