We are pleased to invite applications for the position of Speciality Doctor to join our established, multi-disciplinary team at Demelza.
We are seeking a Paediatric Consultant with a Special Interest in Paediatric Palliative Medicine. For the right candidate we would consider a Consultant or Clinical Fellow who would be interested in undertaking their speciality training in paediatric palliative medicine with our tertiary partner, Evelina London Children's Hospital*.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert medical oversight for Demelza's caseload, ensuring the highest standards of care.
Support and collaborate with Demelza's Registered Nurses to deliver extraordinary, safe, and compassionate care to children and their families.
Purpose of the Role:
Deliver specialist medical oversight, enhancing the quality, safety and effectiveness of care for children requiring palliative support.
Contribute to the development of a specialist nursing outreach team, working alongside existing teams to ensure timely and appropriate symptom management for children.
Play an active role in shaping national developments within paediatric palliative care, implementing national guidance at a local level.
Provide education and training to the workforce, supporting ongoing development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
Support Demelza's research initiatives, contributing to advancements in paediatric palliative care
Paediatric Consultant with a Special Interest in Paediatric Palliative Medicine role 6 PA a week. Salary 105,504 to 139,882 a year pro rata. Post funded for 6 x PA = 24hrs
Should the role be a full time training post pre-consultant level the salary would be 59,175 to 95,400 a year.
Training would be a full-time position for 1 year across the tertiary centre and Demelza Eltham, 61,852 to 70,425 a year whilst undertaking SPIN training. At the end of the training the position would be 6 PA based at Demelza, Eltham.
