Position: Packaging Shift Leader Location: Truro, Cornwall Salary: \xc2\xa329,000 - \xc2\xa333,500 per year DOE Working Hours: 4-on, 4-off continuous pattern of 12-hour shifts (average 40.25 hours per week), typically from 6am to 6pm. About the Role:We are seeking a dedicated Packaging Shift Leader to join the Production Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of the packaging processes, contributing to the production of award-winning products. Oversee the current packaging shift, ensuring production targets are met. Lead by example, actively participating in line operations while managing the team. Ensure compliance with packaging processes and procedures to meet external accreditation requirements. Act as a liaison between packaging teams and production management. Oversee start-ups, shutdowns, and other tasks related to bottling and kegging lines. Collaborate with the Quality team to maintain product quality and adherence to specifications. Address minor faults and breakdowns, escalating as necessary. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Facilitate the training and development of team members, identifying opportunities for upskilling. Foster a culture of resilience and flexibility through cross-training initiatives.Experience and Qualifications: Experience in FMCG packaging, preferably within the food and drink industry. Familiarity with seasonal demand and control in a process manufacturing environment. Previous experience managing diverse teams. Knowledge of cider/wine making processes is advantageous. Experience with HACCP/Quality Systems is desirable. Management qualification and Health & Safety qualification/experience are beneficial but not essential.Skills and Attributes: Strong understanding of quality and risk management principles. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage team members. Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with a focus on solutions.
