(Section Engineer) Assistant Package Manager

to join our amazing

Major Projects

team to work at our

iconic Old Oak Common development in London.

HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.



Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.

Packages on Old Oak Common Station.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities - Fit-Out Focus

Support or lead fit-out packages: metalwork, cladding, flooring, ceilings, wall linings Review scope, identify gaps, assess constructability, and analyse programme sequences Manage interfaces, resolve clashes, and contribute to value engineering initiatives Oversee subcontractor deliverables, quality assurance, and certification (Package/Activity Readiness) Handle documentation, liaise with the wider BBVS team, and drive approvals Ensure safe, compliant delivery of works; lead daily reporting and progress tracking Act as the main site contact for BBVS Senior Package Managers

Who we're looking for

Essential:

BSc/MSc/BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent GNVQ) CSCS card Eligible to work/live permanently in the UK Solid experience on large infrastructure projects Strong understanding of NEC3 contracts and Works Information Experience managing site activities and subcontractor performance Familiar with multidisciplinary interfaces, temporary works, and lifting solutions Clear and reliable reporting skills

Desirable:

SMSTS, PTS, and/or ICE membership Fit-out or civils experience, especially with Network Rail or TfL Familiarity with document control systems (e.g. ALIM, eB, CEMAR) Experience applying NEC3 contract communication
