\xc2\xa335,322 - \xc2\xa339,027 FTE
28-35 hours per week
Temporary until 31 March 2025
Dundee
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a temporary Organisational Development Adviser to contribute the development of the Scottish Social Services Council\'s (SSSC) workforce and overall organisational development. The role will carry a diverse portfolio of work directly aligned to our People Strategy.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and with learning providers to build relationships, knowledge, and employee development and engagement solutions. You will help us develop and further embed our new learning management system, develop OD policies and procedures and support the commissioning, planning and evaluation of a diverse range of learning interventions. You will also support our continuous improvement and project work which cut across all our People Strategy themes.
You will report to the Head of Organisation Development as part of a small, busy team and work remotely, using the Microsoft suite. Occasional attendance is required at our Dundee City Centre office for meetings, training, and collaboration.
This is an exciting time to join us to deliver on our People Strategy. We aim to build on our achievements so far, which notably includes achieving the Gold Investors in People accreditation.
This is a full time vacancy (35 hours per week) but we would welcome applications from those looking for reduced hours of up to 28 hours (4 days). We are also open to flexible working patterns (for example, condensed hours).
Who we are
We are the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social work, social care and early years services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.
We protect the public by registering social work, social care and early years workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate and take action.
What you need to succeed
You will be educated to HND or SCQF level 8 in digital learning, learning and development, organisation development or equivalent (for example a CIPD qualification) or have equivalent experience in a support or advisory level in HR, OD or corporate learning and development.
You may be working towards your qualification or have experience in a similar role and be comfortable working with a range of stakeholders.
In addition to a good understanding of OD, you will be comfortable and experienced with corporate policy and procedure development, improvement projects and with learning management systems (administration and system design).
You will have a strong understanding of the value and impact an OD department brings and apply that to your work. You will be able to challenge, commercially aware and solutions focused.
Why work for us
We are an ambitious, enthusiastic and supportive organisation. With around 300 employees, you can really make an impact here. We offer a generous salary, flexible working arrangements, a full range of benefits, local government pension scheme and up to 43 days holiday (dependent on service).
You can find out more about the benefits of working here on our website.
Our office is in Dundee and we have an agile working policy. We encourage remote working and support a less office-based format. We are happy to discuss individual arrangements and consider agile working, depending on job requirements (such as being in the office for training events and meetings etc).
Flexible working can help employees with their work life balance, but it can also benefit the organisation. Under the flexible working policy employees may apply for a range of varied working contracts and working patterns. For example, condensed hours or reduced hours.
