Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Optician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting customers with their eyewear needs, ensuring they receive the highest level of service and expertise. As an Optician, you will work closely with both clients and optical products, utilising your knowledge of anatomy and laboratory practices to provide tailored solutions for vision correction.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal preferences. Accurately fit and adjust eyeglasses and contact lenses to ensure comfort and optimal vision. Maintain a thorough understanding of various lens types, frames, and optical technologies. Conduct basic eye examinations to determine the suitability of lenses for customers. Collaborate with optometrists to interpret prescriptions and provide appropriate recommendations. Manage inventory of eyewear products, ensuring that stock levels are maintained. Perform laboratory tasks such as lens grinding and frame adjustments as needed. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Optician or in a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy related to vision and eye care. Familiarity with laboratory processes related to eyewear production is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks. Ability to work well within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
