What you\'ll do

The Viasat mobility Energy team services oil & gas customer telecommunications requirement using VSAT (fixed & Stabilized terminals), PtP/LOS, Fiber optics, LTE & Radio systems to connect to the customer site infrastructure and telecoms systems. The Viasat offshore technicians team will install, commission and maintain the offshore systems supported by the onshore staff of Engineering, Build & Test, Warehouse, Logistics, Coordinators and Project Managers as well as the customer support center (CSC). The Operations Coordinator is a key position providing an organized, priority driven & controlled management of all activities required to deliver Viasat services to the customer sites. Taking the requirements from Operations Supervisor; and, understanding the technical, commercial and customer requirements through: planning, implementing, controlling performance and closing is a skilled and performance driven expertise. It requires close organization and the ability to work with: all Viasat team members, third party contractors, customer IT departments and offshore assets to deliver the services on time.

A strong technical background in offshore VSAT, LTE and Telecoms in the Oil & Gas offshore industry will enable an understanding of: the typical solutions hardware, configuration, installation and problem solving to assist in the delivery and commissioning of services supporting the technicians offshore by running onshore support through to completion. The expectation of multiple jobs at differing levels of complexity can be delivered simultaneously with good time management, communication and priority setting with a lively telecoms environment.
The day-to-day

The Operations Coordinator will work in the Westhill office and lead the priorities and reporting through the ServiceNow platform to organize and coordinate the work with support engineers, build & test, warehouse, logistics, third parties and customers to:

• Handle sales & engineering hand over meetings enabling good customer kickoff service meetings
• Manage minor projects and standalone tasks ensuring all work is met to customer requirements within scope, time, quality & budget
• Provide practical hands-on control of all hardware being delivered to the customer site ensuring the scope is provided enabling a good installation
• Completion of documentation for the field Technician, Finance and Operations to complete the documentation packs providing efficient delivery, billing and support by VIASAT colleagues
• Provide technical and project support for Offshore Technicians and leading engineer and support staff engagement to a successful conclusion
• Provide support for test of VSAT hardware including BUCs & Modemsto ensure operation into the field assisting build & test when required
• Test and configuration of Motorola radio hand held units
• Manage hardware lists delivered by the support staff and to organise the hardware into deliveries for warehouse packing and processing to customer site
• Manage and organise the coordinator assigned project shelves enabling engineers, build & test & warehouse staff to easily access required equipment
• Manage the RMA & Returns processes ensuring all returned equipment is tested with Build & Test and processed for RMA repair or disposal
• Is accountable to run the service now work que closing out tasks and raising issues for resolution as they arise
• Aligns with all Viasat customer and regional compliance, HS&E and QA policies and regulations

What you\'ll need

• HNC\\HND Electrical/Electronic/ Computer engineering qualification
• Certified in Project Management
• A good ability with IT standard packages & ServiceNow or similar work management tools
• Proven track record of leading or coordinating telecommunications projects in a similar role
• Familiar with Stabilized (Intellian, Seatel) & Fixed VSAT systems with certifications from the manufacturer
• A strong understanding of LTE, Line of Site communications systems
• Motorola radio programming and fault finding
• Proven knowledge of basic LAN network infrastructure hardware, cabling & test
• Proven knowledge of associated test equipment (Spectrum Analyser, RF Power meter, DVM,OTDR, Lan Tester)
• Ability to prioritise and focus on the priorities through to completion

What will help you on the job

Having completed previous Telecom, Electrical & Electronics training and background and having experience of O&G Telecommunications for offshore assets, the successful candidate will be very familiar with technology and equipment for the offshore communications requirements. A good organizer with a methodical and logical approach is complemented by a proactive, assertive, and supportive attitude towards the work environment and colleagues helping to achieve the common goal. The successful candidate will be able to problem solve and maintain focus in the lively environment whilst keeping control of multiple priorities. This will require very good communication, organisation, time management, results oriented and people leadership skills towards all colleagues and customers.
