This is new and exciting opportunity to lead, develop and enhance our service provision for colleagues working in our medical and Advanced Practice service aligned to the Community Hospital Inpatient Units across Gloucestershire.



The Operational Lead will have oversight of the whole service and will work closely with our site Matrons and senior leadership team to ensure we have a cohesive, consistent and appropriate medical and Advanced Practice offer into our units.



The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the high quality and effective delivery of the medical and Advanced Practice provision to all our units, focusing on effective ways of working, financial and resource management and service transformation . The post holder will develop improved ways of working and strengthen our compliance with the requirements of robust operational governance.



The Operational Manager is responsible for ensuring the high quality and effective delivery of the PH Inpatient Advanced Practitioner and medical workforce. They will be managing financial and physical resources to comply with the requirements of robust operational governance. They will:



In collaboration with other directorate support partners, operationally oversight trainees and qualified Advanced Practitioners to achieve an approved advanced practice master's qualification and support the ongoing development of the 4 pillars of practice. Alongside the operational (line) managers, contribute to workforce planning and considerations around organisational systems affecting resilience and retention. In partnership with the Clinical Director and Medical Lead, develop a directorate faculty for Advanced Practice to provide a governance structure to the training and development of APs and tAPs across the directorate. Develop new and existing policies with the APs and the medical leadership team to ensure we implement best practice to continues to develop and work effectively to meet the needs of patients Act as pastoral support to the APs and tAPs, listening, supporting, advocating for their needs and working through collaboration, negotiation and influence.
