Exciting opportunity to join Beazley\xe2\x80\x99s Credit Control team. We are looking for two, permanent Open Market Accounts Receivable Analysts.

Job Title: Open Market Accounts Receivables Analyst

Division: Finance Operations \xe2\x80\x93 Credit Control

Reports To: Senior Credit Control Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Open Market

Key Relationships: Internal: Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Operations, IT, and Internal Audit

External: Davies Group, Brokers, external audit

Job Summary: Responsible for the Open Market Credit Control function including:

  • Strong liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Active management of internal and external queries
  • Continuous improvement and implementation of best practices
  • Open Market Service Provision
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities as a member of the open market credit control team.
o Assist in managing the backlog of legacy debt

o Investigate the validity of the legacy debt

o Assist in driving process improvement

o Assist in the development of the department, creating a high level of trust and respect within the business
  • Daily open market activities
o Analytic review of open market debtor data, to identify patterns and possible data quality issues

o Reconciliation of Davies data back to Beazley data

o Maximise our cash flow through the resolution of queries and the maintenance of strong relationships.
  • Analyse and report on various projects within the scope of the open market debt
  • Create awareness within the business to prevent the renewal of premiums and issue of claims against unpaid premiums
  • Identify the issues which prevent signings
  • Liaise with Davies and support the pro-active and swift collection of payments
  • Preparation of any reporting requirements for the open market credit control manager
  • Operate in line with credit control financial control framework.
  • Continuous improvement of the credit control function.
  • Propose any improvements of the credit control operational systems and processes
  • Ensure that appropriate standards complied with
  • Use business knowledge and understanding of credit control processes to propose improvements and enhancements as appropriate and liaise with IT and the business as required
  • Support new functionality User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as required.

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.
Personal Specification:
  • Education and Qualifications
o General accounting knowledge

o Educated to A level or equivalent

o CICM qualified advantageous

o Cert CII qualified advantageous
  • Skills and Abilities
o Accurate and numerate

o Meticulous, analytical, strong attention to detail

o Able to handle large amounts of data whilst maintaining accuracy and quality without getting bogged down

o The ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise

o Strong communicator, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders

o Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and use problem solving skills to proactively resolve issues

o Ability to work independently as well as a team player

o Curious and familiar with underwriting systems
  • Knowledge and Experience
o Experience and knowledge of insurance processes essential

o Experience of London Market operations advantageous

o Experience of data analysis \xe2\x80\x93 pulling useful information from large data sets is essential

o Experience of working with operational teams is advantageous

o Experience of working with a 3rd party provided is advantageous

o Familiar with accounting principles

o Advanced knowledge of Excel

o Computer skills \xe2\x80\x93 good working knowledge of MS Office service suite

o Professional approach to successfully interact with internal staff (underwriters, underwriting assistants, business managers and finance) as well as external contacts, in particular brokers and partners
