Job Description

We require an 'old school' mechanic to join our team. We repair and service specialised carpet cleaning equipment, on site at our premises in Fowlmere, Royston. Mechanical engineering experience essential. A passion for tinkering with engines a must! Trainee position may be available if have limited experience but keen interest. Good rates of pay for right candidate.

Summary

You will be integral to maintaining and repairing various specialised cleaning systems, utilising your expertise in mechanical engineering. This position requires a strong foundation in core mechanical skills, along with a commitment to traditional methods and practices. You will report to the Lead Technician and be expected to troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure the longevity of machinery. Your ability to work with classic mechanical equipment will be essential in delivering quality service and upholding the organisation's standards for excellence.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in specialised portable and truck-mounted carpet cleaning equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as machine servicing. Utilise mechanical engineering experience to troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety standards and regulations. Collaborate with team members to enhance service efficiency and customer satisfaction. Logging jobs on worksheets and entering customer invoices on sales system With time and experience, telephone support offering advice to customers with emergency breakdowns
