My client is a pioneer within narrow and mid-web printing and finishing equipment, they operate globally, providing presses, finishing solutions and consumables to clients across the print industry. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced engineer to work on a field basis, to assist with the need of their clients across the UK.
Within the role you will be primarily responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of off-set presses, but having some knowledge of digital presses is highly advantageous.
Due to the nature of the role, extensive travel is to be expected within the position, so holding a full UK driving licence is essential. Occasionally, some weekend work will be required, so having a flexible attitude towards work is essential.
The Role
- Install new products and train customers on the product uses, practical training for safety, press operation and maintenance.
- Routinely provide planned preventative maintenance and support work per the terms of the service contract or work order guidelines
- Provides field support for planned and un-planned warranty and break-fix services. Field service work could be done remotely or on-site and will include troubleshooting and repair of software, hardware, network, electrical components, and systems.
- Properly document and communicate all work required i.e., service reports, expense exports, installation feedback, etc.
- Escalate any opportunity to improve process capabilities, press utilization, client satisfaction, also recognising any opportunities for the business to possibly cross-sell products.
- Routinely interact with Engineering as needed to drive product updates to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Perform work, in front of customers, portraying the business in a positive manner and acting as the face of the company.
The Person
- Extensive experience on Printing Equipment (ideally off-set)
- Ability to read basic electrical/mechanical and pneumatic diagrams.
- Capable of using a multi-meter and micrometres
- Strong computer and network skills
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, software, hardware relevant to overall all press control, print issues and digital printing.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills (English and German).
- Great attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills
