Contract: Permanent, working 35 hours per week (Arts Council also recognises the benefit of flexible working as a valued part of the way we work, and welcome applications from individuals who require flexibility)

Salary: \xc2\xa328,761 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.

Location: Manchester or Birmingham (The role will be based at the office base listed; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members if the team, normally 1-2 days a week)

About us: Arts Council England has an exciting opportunity for two enthusiastic and skilled candidates to join our inclusive and welcoming team as Officers in the Museums and Cultural Property team. These full-time roles can be based in any of the office locations listed and offer a salary of \xc2\xa328,761 and a great benefits package.

The Museums and Cultural Property team delivers a range of national responsibilities that support the strategic development of museums and works with the cultural sector in securing, sustaining, preserving, advocating for and enabling access to collections in support of Arts Council\'s Strategy Let\'s Create!.

About the Role: The roles are varied, and no two days will be the same. You will contribute to, collaborate on and progress projects, process improvements, casework, and information management.

The focus of one role will be supporting the Senior Manager, Operations on work such as data and reporting, and casework for the Acceptance in Lieu Panel.

The other role, will focus on projects, contributing to research and drawing on sector and industry data to inform Arts Council policy, strategy, and programme development.

Here are some of the things you could expect to do:

  • Working with colleagues from Museums and Cultural Property, across Arts Council and the sector to review and develop programmes and initiatives.
  • Collating data and evidence about the running of our schemes and sharing the difference the work has made to museums and communities across the UK in a timely and effective way.
  • Collaborating on the development of our user-focussed reviews to keep our procedures, application forms and guidance updated and relevant.
  • Working with Arts Council\'s research team to collect and collate other research and access accurate insight and intelligence from the museums and art trade to inform the development of policy and strategy.
  • Increasing the accessibility of our web-based information and guidance and ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate and usable.
To apply for this role, you will need experience of working in a team to deliver projects and programmes and have the ability to work confidently and discretely with key stakeholders across Arts Council, within the cultural sector and from diverse backgrounds. You will also require:
  • A proactive and collaborative problem- solving ethos and, user focussed approach.
  • A well-developed ability to meet deadlines, maintaining confidentially and attention to detail.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills and the ability to synthesize large amounts of information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
