The role
As an Office Manager you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. This is a development role in an exciting and rewarding team, playing a pivotal role in the development and training of Apprentices and Administrators joining the business. You will be helping them gain all the necessary skills and experience to develop their career within the organisation.

Day to day, you\'ll develop and mentor Apprentices, providing guidance to them and looking at ways to improve their experience with Babcock whilst on the apprenticeship as well as direct reports to help, develop and guide through their career.

  • Management of direct reports including completing performance and development reviews and identifying relevant additional training for the team.
  • Undertaking interviews for the administrative support onsite and all new Apprentices, including CV sifting, onboarding, and corporate training.
  • Mentoring new Apprentices, providing support at all project meetings, as well as ensuring all targets are met in regard to course work and qualifications.
  • Liaising with Placement Managers and senior managers to ensure all tasks are being met, and additional training identified where needed. Will also need to ensure that all safeguarding guidelines are followed in each placement.
  • Create, facilitate and deliver workshops on various subjects to ensure all administration staff are trained and able to support any area of the business when demands require this.
Essential experience of the Office Manager
  • Experience of managing and supervising a team
  • Experience of facilitating and delivering various workshops
  • Experience of recruitment and selection of candidates
  • Experience of safeguarding regulations
This is a full time role (36 hours) based onsite at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Qualifications for the Office Manager
  • GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or equivalent
  • NVQ L3 in Business and Administration or equivalent discipline
The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance level for this role. You may require SC clearance.
