Sky Chemicals is a growing company in the chemical industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and customer service. We are looking for an organised
office assistant with good Bookkeeping skills
to join our small team. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and supporting the wider business.
Role Overview
As an office clerical administrator, you will provide broad administrative support and bookkeeping tasks. You'll be responsible for liaising and recording of internal and external communications, filing documentation, financial support, and answering callings. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone with good decision-making skills.
Key Tasks
1. Bookkeeping and Accounts Support
Maintain and balance accounts
Credit control
Complete VAT returns
Prepare cash flow statements
Generate monthly management accounts
Create ad-hoc reports for management as needed
Process orders, sales invoices, receipts, and payments
Perform bank and supplier reconciliations
Maintain organised records using the company's bookkeeping system
Handle financial paperwork and filing
Assist with payroll and pension submissions
Support the preparation of profit and loss sheets for annual accounts
Perform additional administrative tasks as required
Provide clerical assistance to the sales team and production
Assist with other administrative duties as required
2. Customer Service
Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries and queries.
Maintain accurate customer records in the CRM system.
Respond to customer calls and send out requested information
Qualifications
Bookkeeping qualifications preferred but not essential
Skills & Experience
Good bookkeeping and accounts knowledge is essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience using CRM or accounting software (e.g., Act!, Xero, Sage 50)
Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
Discreet with sensitive information
Knowledge of chemical is a plus, but not required
