Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 to join our General Medical and Surgical Team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.



The successful candidate should be pro-active, flexible and demonstrate excellent communication, clinical and organisational skills required to work in a fast paced environment, working on providing excellent assessment, discharge planning and placing a key focus on admission avoidance. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in a large and busy team you will be required to demonstrate leadership skills and be confident to work as an autonomous practitioner.



The team consists of Band 7 team leaders, Experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapists, Band 5 Occupational Therapists and Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistants. They work closely with the larger Multidisciplinary Team.

To work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team to meet the complex health and social care needs of people who are referred to our services.



To provide supervision and leadership for relevant junior members of occupational therapy staff in conjunction with the team leader.



To provide supervision and training for students on practice placement



To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated specialist team .



To maintain a flexible and adaptable approach will be necessary to ensure delivery of an excellent OT service across all pathways.
