Are you an Occupational Therapist who enjoys working in the community, building relationships to support adults to maximise their independence?
Are you a creative problem solver who can work well on their own initiative and within a team?
If so, Derbyshire County Council Adult Social Care and Health want to hear from you. We are seeking to recruit a professionally qualified and HCPC registered Occupational Therapist for a part-time contract based in the Amber Valley and surrounding areas.
As part of our Multi-Disciplinary Adult Care Team, you will be required to take a strengths-based approach to deliver a proportionate, personalised, safe and sustainable response for local adults, their carers and families.
Your role will include the assessment of activities of daily living using the enablement approach to maximise independence by removing environmental barriers and helping people regain practical skills and confidence. Supporting independence and wellbeing can help reduce the risk of hospital admission and help restore more independent function for those coming out of hospital. You will need to be able to carry out moving and handling assessments and activities as part of this role.
Occupational Therapist\'s strengths in assessment and goal planning are integral to people achieving personalised outcomes. They are able to use such skills, together with their knowledge of the medical, physical, emotional and cognitive impact of disability and injury, to ensure that reablement is tailored to an individual\'s needs and potential for independence.
A positive approach to risk taking, personal resilience and the ability to contribute to inter- agency and multi-disciplinary approaches both across the Council and in other statutory bodies are key to this role.
Occupational Therapists will be recruited at grade 9 or 11 depending upon knowledge, skills and experience demonstrated in the recruitment process.
You will be supported in your role by a wider network of Occupational Therapists, including a dedicated Occupational Therapist Senior Practitioner for clinical supervision.
