We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and committed
SENDCo & Inclusion Lead
to join our dynamic Nursery team. In this vital leadership role, you will be at the forefront of shaping inclusive practices, supporting children with additional needs, and ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to thrive.
You'll work closely with children, families, practitioners, and external professionals, leading the implementation of SEND strategies and creating a nurturing and stimulating environment aligned with the EYFS framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the identification, planning, and delivery of support for children with SEND across the nursery.
Provide weekly reports on SEND, phonics, and speech & language progress to Senior Management.
Develop and oversee ICPs, IEPs, and curriculum adaptations to meet individual needs.
Liaise with parents and external agencies to coordinate support, including transition meetings.
Track and review SEND documentation and child files each term.
Oversee the application process for EYASF, EHCPs, and additional funding including DAF and EYPP.
Train, guide, and support staff in delivering inclusive, high-quality early education.
Implement behaviour management plans and risk assessments where required.
Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety policies are consistently followed.
Essential Requirements
Level 3 or higher qualification in Early Years Education (e.g., CACHE/NVQ).
Minimum 2 years' experience in a SEND or inclusion-related leadership role.
Strong understanding of the EYFS and SEND Code of Practice.
Proven experience developing and implementing SEND support plans.
Confident communicator, capable of building strong relationships with staff, parents, and professionals.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, child development, and safeguarding procedures.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and support colleagues.
Experience working as a key person, including observing and assessing children's progress.
Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid, DBS check, and Safeguarding Training (or willingness to obtain).
