We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the development and well-being of children. You will be responsible for managing daily activities, ensuring safety, and fostering positive relationships with both children and their families.
This is a full-time, permanent role, and consists of 41 hours per week on a Rota basis (between the hours of 7.30 a.m. - 6.00 pm for 52 weeks of the year (the nursery closes for 1 week at Christmas & all bank holidays)
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care and education to children in the nursery setting.
Plan and implement engaging activities that support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Manage daily routines, ensuring that all children are safe, happy, and engaged.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and promote a positive nursery experience.
Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to inform planning and support individual needs.
Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery environment and contribute to the overall quality of care provided.
Demonstrate leadership skills by mentoring junior staff members and supporting their professional development.
Experience
Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is desirable.
A qualification in early childhood education or related field is essential.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
A genuine passion for childcare and the development of young children is essential.
