Key Responsibilities
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will:
Childcare & Education
Deliver high-quality care and education for children under 5.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities following the
Pre-Birth to Three
and
Curriculum for Excellence
frameworks.
Encourage children's development through play, exploration, and creative activities.
Support children in achieving developmental milestones.
Environment & Safety
Ensure a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
Follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
Teamwork & Communication
Work collaboratively with other practitioners, parents, and management.
Provide regular updates to parents about their child's progress.
Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
About You
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic practitioner with:
Qualifications:
Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., SVQ Level 3 in Social Services/Children and Young People or equivalent). (Preferred).
Experience:
Previous experience working with children under 5.(Preferred).
Knowledge:
A solid understanding of Pre-Birth to Three and Curriculum for Excellence. (Preferred).
Skills:
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. (Preferred).
Attitude:
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development. (Required).
Requirements
This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007
. Successful candidates must:
Join the
PVG Scheme
before starting employment.
Register with the
Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
within six months of the start date.
Provide proof of the right to work in the UK if invited for an interview.
