Nursery Lunch cover/Kitchen Assistant

26 hours per week

9.00am - 2.00pm Monday - Thursday and 8.00-2.00pm Friday

Salary ranging from 10.00 - 12.21 per hour depending on qualifications and experience

Roles and Responsibilities:

Transport lunches to our sister nursery, The Coach House. Provide lunch cover across all age groups. Create a calm and nurturing environment for children as they relax before resuming play and learning activities. Take full responsibility for the kitchen operations on Fridays in the absence of the caterer. Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment by adhering to internal policies and external regulations. Complete the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly and ensure the Cleaning Schedule is regularly updated, followed, and clearly displayed. Assist with unloading fresh supplies and organising the stock room efficiently. Monitor and adhere to correct cooking times and temperatures. Support with light household duties, including washing and basic cleaning tasks. Promote and maintain a clean, hygienic environment that supports healthy eating habits. Work collaboratively within a friendly, supportive team to help foster a positive nursery atmosphere.

Kitchen Assistant skills and requirements :

Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of managing different dietary requirements around food allergies - essential Sound Knowledge of COSHH - essential Experience and qualified to the appropriate level in any role which involves cooking in domestic or commercial property - essential Fluent in written and spoken English at GCSE grade C (or equivalent) - essential Experienced and passionate about any role that involves cooking for young children - desirable
