Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our NURSERY team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food safety, food hygiene and food allergy awareness. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while delivering high-quality meals to our children.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when reordering is necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience in meal preparation or as a Cook in a school/ nursery setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail. A passion for cooking and creating high-quality meals that delight children Ability to cook once a month with the children within the rooms where possible.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
