Happy Feet Day Care is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and reliable cook to join our fun, dynamic and professional team. You will be expected to organise, cook and prepare a healthy, balanced diet for children from 3 months upwards taking into account any dietary requirements and allergies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Being responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with registration and legislative requirements at all times. To establish good professional relationships with colleagues.

Producing daily nutritional and well balanced meals Working with management to develop menus Maintaining our high standards of cleanliness To devise and order the weekly shop whilst sticking to a given budget To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the nursery management team. Possibility to help in the nursery over lunchtimes if required
Requirements for this role:

Experience of working in a nursery environment would be an advantage but not a must. Enthusiasm, self-motivation and commitment combined with a real passion for food is one of the requirements which is a must. Great communication and record keeping skills Ideally experience of special diets' procedures, including allergies and preference diets Ideally trained in cookery and or food safety Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check (DBS) and full pre-employment checks Previous kitchen work is essential
