Nursery Cook
Job Description
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Nursery Cook. The successful applicant will need to provide nutritious and well presented meals, suitable for children and babies, under the age of five, according to the current menus. Maintain a high standard of hygiene at all times following infection / cross contamination control procedures. Have an awareness and understanding of Special Dietary Needs, referring to food allergies, food intolerances, cultural needs, vegetarian requirements and any other, according to the red list policy. Be able to update and manage the Safer Food, Better Business file daily and to follow standard food hygiene procedures (e.g. food temperature checks and monitoring; recording this daily).In order to be considered for the role of Nursery Cook, you will need a passionate and positive attitude, catering experience within an early years or school environment (desirable but not essential). A relevant Food and Hygiene qualification is also desirable but training can be given for the right candidate. Guilden Sutton Day Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Background checks and Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance will be required.
