Nurse Call Field Engineer

Tamworth, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Nurse Call Field Engineer to join our team and help us to provide the highest quality of installation and maintenance service of nurse call systems.

This role will generally cover some semi-national travel however you should be based in the Midlands or South of England (e.g. Tamworth to Basingstoke area).

It's typical to have up to a 2 hour commute to the job. Ocassionally travel further afield will be required.

You must consider that there could be installations up to Scotland area or beyond, however we will try to limit your work area to the midlands where possible.

You must have strong nurse call experience, ideally on Wireless Nurse Call Systems such as Medicare Systems, Courtney Thorne, ARM, etc.

You must be technically literate and compitent with modern technology, e.g. an understanding of Android, basic IP addressing / networking, Microsoft Windows etc. - we aren't expecting you to be a software developer, but we need to ensure you are happy troubleshooting Microsoft Windows on WiFi connection issues, software updates and installing files etc which is required for some Microsoft Windows based Nurse Call systems.

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 0900 - 1730 (Overtime Opportunities)

A bit about us:

Blaucomm design, install & manage IT Network & Telecoms Solutions for care homes. We also do Nurse Call systems, WiFi, Internet, Hosted Telephony, Firewalls and IT Support. We're not just any old IT or Telecoms company. We're a care-focused team!

What will you be doing in this role?

As a Nurse Call Field Engineer at Blaucomm, you will be responsible for servicing existing nurse call systems (Mainly Medicare and Intercall) accross England. This will including fault finding to resolve problems, programming call points, replacing effected components within Windows machines and installing new peripherals. This is entirely within adult social care environements (care homes, nursing homes etc).

You may also need to install a small number of data cables to facilitate nurse call equipment, so you should be confident in chase walls, drilling homes, running and terminating data cables.

A typical day could include:

Testing nurse call system functionality to fault find issues Setting up new display screens and call points to replace fault units Providing on site training on system functionality Installing new peripherals and accessories on nurse call systems Installing new nurse call system installation Running a small amount of CAT5e/CAT6 Data Cables to support new hardware installations Investigating WiFi or other IT faults Racking and patching IT equipment in data cabinets
You will be the face of Blaucomm whilst on site with customers, so great people skills will be important - often in a technical situation, customers will look to you for help and guidance, so being able to translate complex terms to simple explanations for non-technical staff is a great skill.

Ultimately this is an opportunity to develop with a chance to build a rewarding career in a small professional company.

Application question(s):

We work mainly in the UK Healthcare sector, meaning dedication to service delivery is important. We will always pay the overtime, but there will be situations where it's vital to stay on a customer site beyond normal working hours to complete an installation or resolve a fault. This isn't always compatible with the work life balance that people seek.
Please describe what impact this might have on your work life balance and any considerations we might need to make for you, such as: "I must finish by 3pm on Fridays to collect my children".

We ask this purely so we understand your personal commitments and we ensure we can tailor the position around you to ensure a healthy balance.

What experience in a technical role do you have? For example, Nurse Call, Fire / Security, Data Cabling, Telecoms or similar.
Don't over-inflate your experience - just be honest and let us know your experience and what you're comfortable with.
