Woodside Haulage (Preston) have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Planner to join their fast-paced, award-winning team.
Job Summary:
You will support the Transport Manager in the day-to-day running of Woodside Haulage Operations. You will maintain a consistently high daily service level whilst ensuring the day-to-day operations run in the most efficient way possible and all other aspects of the operations run accurately and legally.
Duties include:
The successful applicant will assist in & oversee the daily operation including but not limited to:
Liaising with our Driver, Warehouse and GB operations teams to ensure a high service level for our customers.
Ensuring vehicles are planned efficiently, maximising delivery and collection performance.
Accurate booking, monitoring, and updating of consignments on our Transport Management System.
Ensuring accurate completion of all paperwork and that specific customer requirements are adhered to.
Liaising with drivers and driver trainers to ensure completion of all relevant driver training.
Liaising with fleet maintenance to ensure all vehicles and equipment are made available for service and MOT when required.
Working alongside the QHSE Manager to deliver a high level of quality, health and safety.
Liaising with ferry companies to confirm and secure bookings & sailings.
Essential Criteria:
At least 1 years experience in a Transport operations role.
Excellent knowledge of driver working hours regulations.
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
A calm & confident telephone manner.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience in the daily use of a recognised Transport Management System (such as Stirling, Vigo, Mandata etc), Microsoft office including Outlook, Excel, and a Vehicle Telematics systems preferred.
