Caught & Cured Ltd is a family owned and operated fish processing business.

We are currently looking to employ an Industrial Cleaning/Hygiene Supervisor, who will be responsible for supporting good Food Safety & Health and Safety practices within the Food Manufacturing process, through the development of the cleaning processes and equipment used, and training provided.

You will be responsible for managing a team of Night Shift Industrial Cleaners/Hygiene Operatives, who must operate within strict hygiene rules and regulations to maintain food safety standards.
In this key role, you will assume overall responsibility for providing a support function to the business ensuring that internal systems and processes are adhered to.

The typical tasks will involve:

Cleaning:

Ensure smooth running of cleaning operations on site:

Thoroughly clean the different parts of the production facilities as outlined in the cleaning schedules. Use the appropriate cleaning products for the different areas, surfaces, and cleaning tasks, strictly following safety guidelines for use of each chemical product. Monitor usage of cleaning and hygiene products, promptly replacing or refilling dispensers as required. Monitor stock levels, promptly reporting any low levels and missing stock. Ensure that all associated paperwork is completed to meet quality, health & safety and general management requirements.

Hygiene & Food Safety:

Adhere to company rules and procedures on Hygiene and Food safety to ensure customer satisfaction and safeguard the business. Report food safety hazards and breaches of the Hygiene and Food Safety rules.

Health & Safety:

Adhere to company Health & Safety rules and procedures to ensure the health & safety of yourself, colleagues and all company visitors. Report accidents and unsafe practices. Report misuse, unauthorised removal or deliberate damage to Equipment Safety Guards, Safety Signage and Personal Protective Clothing or Equipment.

General:

To agree and effect labour requirements through liaison with the Factory Manager, having regard for production demands. To maintain the BRC and production paperwork but also a high standard of housekeeping and maintenance. To take overall responsibility for hygiene in all areas, ensuring that a good rate of work is achieved, BRC rules and systems are maintained and recorded and that staff are adequately supervised and controlled. To take overall responsibility for staff training, including assessments; identify internal training needs for staff including cleaning skills, awareness of health & safety and food safety, etc. To take responsibility for signing all holiday request forms, ensuring that adequate cover is maintained at all times. To operate a cleaning system and monitor performance of their staff. To manage their area wage spent effectively with recommendations for improvement. To take responsibility for the operation of the kilns so that the product has been correctly smoked / cooked before unloading. To be aware of the kiln handler's responsibilities and to provide cover as necessary. Liaising with other departments where necessary to ensure that the business needs are met.
