Are you a night owl who thrives in a dynamic environment? As our family business continues to expand, we're looking for a dedicated

Night Porter

to join our team full-time.

In this role, you'll be at the heart of our late-night operations, providing

bar cover, function set-up, night porterage, and Reception support

--all while ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for our guests. You'll work closely with the

Night Manager

, playing a key role in maintaining our high standards of service.

Main Responsibilities:

Be conversant and compliant with all Front Office Systems and Bar operations Efficiently and professionally handle guest queries Greet and check-in guests arriving during your shift in a professional and proficient manner Occasionally assist guests with their luggage and serve as a point of contact to ensure all requirements are met during their stay Execute guest departures in a professional and proficient manner Provide a security function for the hotel in line with company operating and security procedures Record observations in the Duty Manager diary Provide efficient handovers to the Duty Manager or Receptionist Have thorough knowledge of and adhere to company regulations regarding:
Fire regulations and night-time evacuation procedures

Health and safety regulations

First aid procedures

Licensing laws

Undertake general cleaning and maintenance duties

Perform special duties or work outside the normal daily/weekly routine within the overall scope of the position at the request of the Night Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager

Required Skills:

Polite spoken and written manner

Good team player, but also capable of working independently

Ability to multi-task and take on several duties

Benefits and Remuneration

Location:

Gretna Green - on-site

Holidays:

30 days holiday per annum (including bank/public holidays) plus birthday day off

Rate of pay:

Competitive, depending on experience

Hours:

20 hours per week

Days:

Night Shift - 20 hours worked Monday-Sunday due to the nature of this role this does include weekends and public holidays
