We are looking for a News Editor who can help make sure the most important stories of the day reach the readers who need to see them.
You will join our amplification team which includes Google Showcase, Apple News, WhatsApp and other platforms, who curate the very best stories from across the majority of Reach PLC titles including Mirror, Express and regional sites, promoting them via our digital products. Our Showcase panels are read by tens of millions of people every month and is one of the fastest growing areas in digital publishing today.
You will be right at the heart of our editorial operation, working with newsrooms across England and Ireland to choose the stories we should be promoting, and feeding back on what\xe2\x80\x99s working too.
We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is home based and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.
What will the role involve?
You will manage your team of content curators in producing content which engages readers and reaches as many people as possible. You will publish content online with a focus on Google News, Google Discover, Apple News, Flipboard, Upday and Whatsapp. You will provide support and guidance to your team to encourage them to source the most engaging content at pace.
You will play a key role in growing and driving readership across a wide variety of Reach brands. You will curate content, from selecting stories, checking headlines and choosing images for published content, ensuring IPSO and Reach\xe2\x80\x99s digital publishing standards are met at all times. This role includes shift and weekend working, this will typically involve 1 weekend in every three, so a flexible approach is required.
