About Us
In line with the Mayor\'s commitment to Community Wealth Building we are launching the Newham Apprenticeship Scheme.
Newham is a young, vibrant and ambitious borough and we are at the forefront of significant challenges. By focusing on building resilience, we are tackling deprivation and creating a more prosperous future for our residents. The borough aims to transform the lives of people in Newham and make it a place where people choose to live, work and stay.
The London borough of Newham is working to ensure Newham is a place where there is greater investment in public spaces, more opportunities for younger people, more jobs and a decrease in benefit dependency, quality housing for residents, a greater choice when accessing council services and high quality health care delivered around individual needs.
Newham has many ambitious and interesting times ahead and we would love you to share these times with us as an apprentice seeking a new challenge.
About the Job
You will be delivering a level of great customer service within the field of repairs and maintenance. We are a service that provides value for money within Newham, is renowned for quality and reliability and carries out work in accordance with good trade practice and the recognised standards of the industry. To support this we must continue to employ high quality trades operatives and we believe this can only be achieved by investing in the future and through adopting a purposely designed apprenticeship scheme.
The Newham Apprenticeship Scheme offers an opportunity for you to start an exciting new career, whether it is your first job, whether you are returning to work after a career break, or you are looking for a change in career direction.
This year we are looking to recruit apprentices in Carpentry, Electrical, Gas engineering (including plumbing) and Business administration (office based).
Earn as you learn whilst working alongside experienced colleagues who will help you to develop the skills the council needs. There are even opportunities to progress to a higher or degree level apprenticeship in the future, avoiding tuition fees and potential student debt.
