At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people. At the IET you'll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you'll grow - professionally and personally - in ways you never thought possible. We're also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.
What you'll be doing
As a WISE New Business Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in growing and maintaining strong relationships with our corporate members and partners. You will be responsible for developing accounts, driving new business opportunities, and ensuring our members receive valuable support in their Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) journeys.
Working within the Engagement and Growth team, you will engage with organisations across the STEM sector to understand their gender equity challenges and provide tailored solutions from WISE and the IET's EDI offer. You will be instrumental in driving membership growth, ensuring high renewal rates, and identifying opportunities for additional engagement through training, sponsorships, and workshops.
Collaboration will be key to your success. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance our membership offering, shape innovative EDI solutions, and champion gender balance across STEM. If you're a natural relationship builder with a passion for helping organisations make meaningful progress, this role offers the chance to drive real change while supporting WISE's mission.
What is WISE?
WISE (Women into Science and Engineering) delivers women-centred Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) solutions for the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) sectors. WISE's mission is to support businesses and organisations in achieving gender balance within STEM through consultancy, training, research, and advocacy. WISE works with corporate partners, academia, and policymakers to create inclusive workplaces and career pathways for women in STEM.
What we hope you can bring to the role
We are looking for someone with proven experience in account management, sales, or business development, ideally in a membership or service-based environment. You'll bring a strategic mindset and the ability to identify opportunities for growth while maintaining excellent relationships with corporate clients. Previous experience in EDI is not essential, but a keen interest and understanding of its importance will be beneficial; furthermore, the ability to proactively grow accounts is key as opposed to reactive account management.
Strong communication skills are a must, as you'll be liaising with a variety of stakeholders, from HR and diversity leads to senior decision-makers. Your ability to listen, influence, and present compelling solutions will be key to success. Experience working in or with the STEM sector, or within a not-for-profit or professional membership organisation, would be advantageous.
Please note, this role is known internally as WISE Account Manager.
We'd love to get to know you
