Brief Description

At Network Rail East Coast Route Operations, we are passionate about working together as one team to provide the best possible outcomes for passengers.

To support this goal, we are creating a Service Delivery Centre (SDC) which will be at the heart of this mission, and we will co-locate our Control and Signalling operations functions with representatives from the Train Operating Companies. The centre will be located in York Rail Operating Centre operating centre and control all operations from Kings Cross to North of Peterborough.

This exciting role will provide leadership and direction to the SDC team acting as a role model to improve the culture and capability of the team and lead the team\'s response and management of all operating incidents in that geographical area.

In the event of a major incident or severe disruption to the service, you will act as tactical commander for management of the incident, directing control and other response personnel, and accountable for asset rectification by escalation and co-ordination of resources.

In the event of a major incident or severe disruption to the service, act as tactical commander for management of the incident, directing control and other response personnel, and accountable for asset rectification by escalation and co-ordination of resources.

Provide leadership and direction to the control team acting as a role model to improve the culture and capability of the Controller teams.

Lead the safe delivery of the daily train plan both during normal running and disruptive events and in the management of Very Short-Term Planning activity.

Lead the management of safety of the line incidents in accordance with safety standards and statutory requirements.

Lead the control team dissemination of safety critical and other information and introduce and maintain a system of recording operational safety and performance incident information in accordance with the relevant company standards, procedures and statutory requirements, to provide safety, performance and management reporting information at the required frequencies.

Support incident reviews by giving appropriate consideration to customer needs, Network Rail and train operators\' positions.

Contribute to development and maintenance of up to date operational and safety policies and procedures, relating to train service delivery, control of operations and line management

Manage the integrity of sensitive operational and security documentation.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you?

\xc2\xb7 Experience of leading teams within a control, logistics or operations environment

\xc2\xb7 Good negotiating skills and ability to make objective decisions

\xc2\xb7 Able to manage conflict, influence others and work under pressure

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Network Rail and Train Operating Companies within the Route and the key aspects of their business

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Train Operator performance regime and targets

\xc2\xb7 Understanding of operational rules and regulations

\xc2\xb7 Good geographical knowledge of applicable Route

Do you have?

  • Previous experience of working within a safety critical communications environment
  • Geographical knowledge of adjoining Routes
