About Us

Delt Shared Services is a dynamic and innovative IT services provider, working in partnership with organisations across the public sector, including Education, Local Government, and Healthcare. We harness collective buying power to deliver cutting-edge technology solutions that might otherwise be out of reach for public sector organisations. Our mission is to create positive social impact through technology, ensuring our customers benefit from resilient, secure, and cost-effective IT services.

We are currently concluding a significant transformation of our wide area network to an SD-WAN solution using FortiGate, alongside implementing the full stack of SolarWinds for network management and orchestration. This is an exciting time to join our team as we continue to evolve and enhance our network infrastructure.

The Role

As a Network Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-grade networking solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Working closely with our project managers and customer architects, you will ensure that our networking infrastructure is standardised, simplified, secure, available, flexible, and efficient to meet customer requirements.

The two key focuses for this role are:

Supporting the Connectivity Service Owner with configuration and simplification of our enterprise routing using BGP. Delivering standard offerings for our Access and Distribution Layers within campuses to enhance project delivery speed.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement high-performance network architectures for enterprise and cloud environments. Provide technical leadership on network transformation projects, including a complete network refresh for a major healthcare customer. Collaborate with customer architects to develop and present technical solutions. Conduct network assessments and audits, identifying risks, gaps, and optimisation opportunities. Define and document network standards, best practices, and security policies. Evaluate and select networking technologies, vendors, and solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to network engineers and operational teams. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, etc.). Troubleshoot complex networking issues and drive continuous service improvements.

Key Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Network Architect or senior-level Network Engineer in an MSP or enterprise environment. Strong expertise in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, Data Centre, Cloud). In-depth experience with enterprise routing using BGP. Hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and security solutions. Extensive knowledge of Cisco, Fortinet, and Meraki (experience with Palo Alto and HPE Aruba is a plus). Experience with cloud networking (Azure) and hybrid environments is advantageous. Familiarity with automation and scripting is beneficial. Strong understanding of network security best practices, segmentation, and Zero Trust models. Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, PCNSE, or equivalent are highly desirable. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
