The role of Lead Naval Technical Regulations and Standards (TRS) Engineer, GE Power Conversion & Storage UK, is an exceptional opportunity for your capabilities, enthusiasm and experience to make a real impact at one of the leading energy technology companies working on major, global projects.


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Regulations and Standards Engineer to join our team. This position is critical to ensuring that our projects comply with all relevant technical regulations, standards, and certifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Working in a class-leading, multi-disciplinary team of engineers you will bring your extensive expertise in Technical Regulations and Standards Engineering within the field of military projects and equipment, ideally with knowledge of relevant military standards, class rules and regulatory requirements.


As part of this role, you will support various projects, leading and producing internal and customer TRS deliverables.

You will have responsibility for the following activities:



Leading and delivering successful Technical Regulations and Standards management activities on projects in a consistent manner, meeting customer expectations. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet applicable industry standards and regulations, including but not limited to IEC, IEEE, MIL-STD, DEF-STAN and other relevant guidelines. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, compliance certifications, and regulatory submissions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product development, quality assurance teams and the wider business TRS team, to develop the regulatory compliance strategy for projects and to support the implementation and adherence. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments related to regulatory compliance and standards adherence, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions. Supporting the development and implementation of TRS management processes, procedures, and tools across projects in the Naval and wider business. Leading TRS discussions with suppliers & customer. Supporting the project teams and our suppliers, by providing TRS management direction, guidance and mentoring. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards, ensuring proactive adaptation and compliance.

Qualifications/Requirements



Minimum of a degree or equivalent qualification, or higher, for example Masters or PhD in a relevant field. Demonstrable Technical Regulations and Standards Engineering knowledge & experience. Previous experience of implementing Technical Regulations and Standards processes and delivering TRS activities on large multifaceted projects. An understanding of how TRS integrate with engineering deliverables and other Project Management and Project Controls disciplines, including cost estimating and project planning. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Is a sole UK National and holds, or be eligible to obtain, UK security clearance to SC level.
