The Opportunity




To meet the demands of a growing pipeline of work, we are seeking a talented Naval Architect to join our Through Life Support team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional support to both existing and new Austal customers. As a full-time member, you will play a key role in the coordination, development, and delivery of design and engineering activities.




What's involved



Support:

Provide technical engineering support to projects from initiation to completion.

Coordination:

Scope, task and manage delivery of design activities.

Collaboration:

Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

Compliance & Standards:

Ensure all activities meet relevant classification society rules, maritime regulations, and Austal's standards for quality and safety.

Continuous Improvement:

Contribute to and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.



You'll need



Education:

Degree in Naval Architecture,

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a vessel design and construction environment including refit and repair. A working knowledge in all aspects of Naval Architecture including an understanding of ship systems and shipyard processes.

Software Proficiency:

A working knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf, or similar Naval Architecture software.

Regulatory Knowledge:

A working knowledge of ship classification rules, maritime regulations, and industry standards.

Problem-Solving:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to innovate and adapt to complex challenges.

Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of working in isolation and with multidisciplinary and multilingual teams.
