Job PurposeThe purpose of the Women's U17's Head Coach role is to oversee the delivery and implementation of the Welsh Way, and the transition of players within the pathway. The Head Coach will support the player development process through on-pitch delivery, player monitoring and individual support, and contribute to the implementation of Our Wales - High Performance Strategy.Key Areas of Accountability or Responsibility- Contribute to a high-performance environment and culture that maximises the potential of players and the provision of talent available for selection at National Team level
- Ensure successful delivery of all WU17's camps including the planning, delivery and review processes.
- Leading and motivating a multi-disciplinary team on camp during training, fixture, and tournament camps.
- Working with key departments internally to deliver camps successfully including technical teams, Team Operations and Safeguarding.
- Ensure collaboration and communication with Head of Player Development (Women's and Girls) on youth players and developing a strategy on how to best develop top pathway talent.
- Monitoring international youth players at external clubs.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues from within the Women's and Girls player pathway and Girls Regional Program to ensure alignment and consistency for players.
- Working with the Talent Identification team to work on exit strategies for Girls Regional Program players into professional clubs or next non-professional clubs.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including clubs across the UK.
- Support the delivery and execution of the Our Wales High Performance Strategy.
- Supporting the Coach Education team with mentoring and delivery of courses.
- Create a safe environment for players on camp and ensure adherence to FAW Safeguarding, policies, practices and procedures.
- Support and promote the FAW values of Respect, Family and Excellence.Person SpecificationExperienceUEFA A Licence Holder
Minimum of 5 years coaching experience within elite youth professional and/or National Youth Teams.
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in high performing environments
Experience of working women and girls elite player developmentKnowledge, Skills and BehavioursDevelopmental focused with experience of nurturing and promoting young players
Excellent communication skills to build relationships with staff, players, parents and other key stakeholders
Understanding of and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team in high performance environment
Advanced IT skills including football specific software and technology
Experience of delivering Elite Coach Education Courses or Workshops
Experience of mentoring elite coaches is desirable
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, with a 'can do' positive attitude
xe2x80x8bRole Specific RequirementsThe ability to speak Welsh would be advantageous.
Due to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as irregular hours and weekend work will be required for this role, and working on 10-day camps.
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
