The National Policing Vulnerability Knowledge and Practice Programme (VKPP) is a diverse, passionate and multi-disciplinary team working across England and Wales with the aim to coordinate and enhance the police service\'s response to vulnerability.
We have a range of professionals on the team: people from the charity sector, academics, police officers and staff, all with wide ranging expertise.
The VKPP requires a national child safeguarding reform coordinator to work alongside and complement an existing post holder who has successfully embedded the role in national policing and across Government. Working closely with them and equivalents in children social care, health and education the post holder will be required to support policing leaders locally effectively deliver their strategic child safeguarding partnership responsibilities through a combination of peer support, CPD, resource production and the identification/ linkage of promising practice. The successful post holder will also be required to represent policing and child safeguarding partnerships nationally in a range of cross partnership / Government forums and provide expert policy advice and insight including to the national child safeguarding practice review panel.
This is a homeworking role, with a requirement to travel and work at other locations nationally as may be reasonably required. There will be an expectation for occasional overnight stays. Travel and expenses will be reimbursed in line with police staff council conditions of service. If you are working from London, London weighting will apply.
