Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical operations and have experience in commercial driving. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring excellent communication with team members and clients. The Driver will be responsible for operating various types of vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, to meet delivery schedules.

Duties

Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, in a safe and responsible manner. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition. Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to traffic regulations and safety protocols. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs and delivery confirmations. Assist with warehouse duties as required, including inventory management and stock organisation.

Requirements

Valid driving licence with appropriate endorsements for commercial driving. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role. Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with warehouse operations is an advantage. A proactive attitude towards safety and compliance with regulations.
