The role

As a Multi-Skilled Technician, you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. This role will support operations by carrying out duties at various UK and Overseas locations, as required. This will include outine antenna maintenance, response to breakdowns, and minor works, with specific responsibility for antenna, mechanical, electrical systems and equipment.

Day to day, you\'ll:

• Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks and respond to breakdown reports as required.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance activities in line with Babcock Work Instructions and manufacturer\'s recommendations as required.
• Use the Management Information System (MIS) system to manage / record work activities.
• Assist with the repair of faults to antennas/aerials/masts and electrical/mechanical systems including replacement of failed units.
• Be involved in team installation activities, including electrical / data cabling and mechanical systems

This role is based onsite at Scarborough and involves regular travel within the UK and Overseas.

Essential experience of the Multi-Skilled Technician:

• A good awareness of maintenance monitoring techniques.
• Knowledge of corrosion protection systems and techniques.
• Experience in an asset / antenna maintenance environment, and a sound knowledge of antenna structures and systems.
• Experience in the use of hand and power tools, abrasive wheels and specialist rigging equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations relating to rigging work and RF hazards.

Qualifications for the Multi-Skilled Technician:

• Advanced or Basic climber qualification, with the continued ability to work at height
• Recognised mechanical craft qualification / Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience.
• EFAW/FAW qualification.
• Forklift driving qualification.
