We are currently recruiting for Multi-Skilled Engineers to work at our cooked bacon factory in Northampton, UK.

The role

The successful candidate will become a valued member of our team responsible for delivering a high-quality maintenance service to production. The engineer must ensure that production equipment operate efficiently, effectively, safely and in line with the maintenance strategy.

Typical duties will include:

Working on machinery/equipment such as: high speed slicers, Industrial microwaves, gas oven, blast freezers, slicers, hydraulic presses, multi-head weighers, vertical bag sealers, thermoformers, metal detectors, check weighers and other food processing equipment Work towards reducing breakdowns by engaging with problem solving sessions, reviewing maintenance plans, continuous improvements etc. Provide mentoring and coaching to other members of the engineering team in your areas of expertise and strength. Have a strong focus on Food Safety and Health and Safety, identify any improvements that can be made. Engage with the CMMS system to provide data that can be used to implement change and share information across the department.

Skills and experience:

We are looking for a multiskilled engineer with an electrical bias. Ideally the right candidate will have come from a solid engineering background with experience in food. You should be highly motivated and critical thinking/ problem solving should be second nature. Other skills should include:

Experience with motors, drives, PLC's, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, gearboxes Positive can-do attitude, strong communicator, analytical, self-motivated Able to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings. Electrical or mechanical qualification with 3 years' experience as maintenance engineer
Night Shift- Sunday to Thursday - Sunday 9pm to 6am, Monday to Thursday 6pm to 3am.

Overtime available

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 50,000.00 per year
