Migration Specialist - Block SDS Engineer

As a Barclays Migration Specialist - Block SDS Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying a software defined storage product based on the outcome of the storage strategy. The engineer will take the lead in designing/providing an end-to-end solution. Along with documenting the deployment and operational procedures for the product. Our Ambition is to transform and modernise the legacy Global Storage estate to help facilitate rapidly growing the bank by delighting stakeholders, customers and clients.

What will you be doing?

• You will have primary ownership of the SDS product offering, working with the vendor and Storage Team to integrate it into Barclays for production rollout
• Supporting all projects and operations within the Global Storage using the provided solution
• Maintaining IT policies, standard and system operation procedure
• Collaborating with storage engineers and vendors to define, design, and deploy the SDS product offering
• Liaising with infrastructure teams to build compatibility metrics and ensure supportability
• Prioritising and remediate any SDS product backlog based on user feedback

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• In-depth knowledge of various SDS products, and hands-on experience in product implementation and deployment.
• Experience in Python 3.x
• RESTAPI integration development

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Familiarity with Storage technologies; NAS, Object Storage Knowledge of SAN based technologies; block & switch.
• Familiarity with Storage technologies; NAS, Object Storage
• Familiarity with automation tool OneDesk

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
