The Technical Services MEP Supervisor will be responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and monitoring all Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) design and delivery from Stage 4B through to completion. This role ensures that consultant and subcontractor designs are coordinated, buildable, and aligned with architectural and interior intent.
Working under the Technical Services & Design Manager, the MEP Supervisor acts as a specialist reviewer and on-site monitor of MEP works, helping to identify coordination issues early, validate installation quality, and liaise between design consultants, site teams and trades.
Key Responsibilities
MEP Design Review & Coordination
Review all Stage 4B-Stage 5 MEP consultant drawings for buildability, coordination, and specification compliance
Ensure consultant designs are aligned with the architecture, interiors, AV, lighting and joinery integration requirements
Lead technical review meetings with MEP consultants and highlight interface issues
Maintain a log of design risks and unresolved coordination issues, escalating where required
On-Site Technical Oversight
Monitor MEP first and second fix installations on site
Attend and report on commissioning and live testing of systems
Support QA processes by reviewing installation against latest IFC drawings
Assist with resolution of RFIs and shop drawing queries, particularly at complex junctions (e.g. plantrooms, risers, ceiling voids, integrated lighting)
Provide real-time feedback to the Technical Services Manager on MEP delivery progress and quality
Interface Management
Coordinate key interfaces between MEP and architectural/interior details (e.g. HVAC grilles within joinery, lighting in coffered ceilings)
Collaborate with joinery, lighting, and AV trades to ensure integrated solutions are executed correctly
Support the alignment of consultant and subcontractor responsibilities, flagging any scope gaps early
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain a site record of MEP activities, inspections, tests, and observations
Assist the Project Manager and Document Controller in managing MEP-related RFIs and technical submittals
Track compliance with programme milestones for MEP installations and commissioning
Ensure all parties are working from the latest issued documents and coordinate any updates with the design team
Experience & Qualifications
Technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, lighting and public health systems
Experience reviewing consultant design deliverables and working with subcontractor teams on live sites
Familiarity with commissioning and testing processes for HVAC, lighting control, and power systems
CSCS card (required)
SMSTS / SSSTS (preferred but not essential)
Excellent communication, drawing review and technical troubleshooting skills
