Provide high-quality mental health care to patients in various settings, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Conducting mental health assessments and developing individualized care plans
Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
Providing counselling and therapy to patients
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Educating patients and their families on mental health issues and treatment options
Monitoring and evaluating patient progress
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Mental Health Nursing or related field
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Registered Mental Health Nurse with the NMC or Registered Nurse (RN) license with the NMC with Certification in Mental Health Nursing
Qualified in the delivery Specific Talking Therapy treatments (certification required)
Registered with appropriate NHS Talking Therapies Professional Bodies
Holds at least one of the following:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment modalities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Empathy and compassion
Crisis intervention skills
Ability to work effectively in a team
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to details
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other patient record management systems
