The Medicine care group at QA hospital is looking for a enthusiastic, passionate medical secretary to join the General Medicine team. The role will be working directly with the clinical director and all his team. This will support in the day to day activity in the general medicine area, as well as setting up outpatient clinics for the consultants and registrars. This is a newly created positon with the group and the role will develop overtime, the successful candidate will be able to make there mark. This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, team player looking to change area or take on a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities: * Support GIM Clinical Director and his team- communication with patients or GP surgery

  • Point of contact for Dr Golam Yahia and other consultants- From patients , family and colleagues
  • Organising GIM Hybrid Clinic \xe2\x80\x93 Clinic list, tracking patient records, chasing and updating outstanding investigations
  • Helping requesting notes for Datix, complaints, Inquest or other investigations
Qualifications

Essential
  • GCSE English, Grade 5 or above
Experience

Essential
  • Everyday experience with Microsoft Office and similar databases
  • Proven record of previous secretarial position
  • Combination of training courses in office procedures, business administration and typing/keyboarding courses
Skills and Knowledge

Essential
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of NHS specific software
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to use a personal computer with knowledge of word processing and Windows applications
  • Working knowledge of clerical and financial procedures
  • Ability to operate a personal computer with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software
  • Ability to understand and work with financial, administrative and personnel processes and practices
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of NHS specific software and applications
