Job Description

Gatley Medical Practice is looking for one or two motivated and enthusiastic Medical Receptionists/ Administrators to join our well-respected expanding team and help us further develop our service. We pride ourselves in caring and supporting our staff, and promote a friendly and supportive working environment. These roles will include working across the reception, admin, secretarial teams.

We are seeking committed receptionists, who demonstrate enthusiasm for working in primary care, with a genuine interest in working with patients and contributing to the delivery of high quality health care. Applicants should be courteous, highly motivated, pro-active and good team players, able to project a positive and friendly image to patients/visitors.

The post is full time, please note there will be a need to start work at 8am or finish at 6.00/6.30pm depending on the shifts.

Gatley Medical Practice

is a large and busy practice in the Gatley, close Stockport. We have a friendly practice with over 10,000 patients. We are a Teaching practice and we have close links with our neighbourhood practices, we have been rated good in all areas by CQC. We are situated in a purpose-built health centre, easy to access commuter routes.

We pride ourselves not only in our patient care but also in the people we have at Gatley. Our staff are our greatest asset and we encourage development in every role. As well as the current GP Team, we have an experienced nursing team for chronic disease management, first contact MSK practitioners, a social prescribing team, a Mental Health Practitioner, pharmaceutical prescribers, a range of care coordinators supporting the clinical; team and importantly experienced managerial and admin teams.

We are proactive within Cheadle PCN which involves working closely with three other local practices.

Job responsibilities

General reception duties will include answering and making calls, liaising with the triaging GP to arrange the correct appointments for patients, meeting and greeting patients, dealing with patient queries and enquiries as well as patient enquiries from other service providers, e.g. hospitals and pharmacies and administrative duties associated with patient care.

Admin duties will include,updating records, scanning/coding (for which training will be given) recording data, dealing with patient and other providers queries and tasks via email or over the phone as well as using our other internal systems.

The medicine management involves working closely with patients/pharmacies and other staff processing prescription, resolving queries and supporting patients - again training will be given.

General IT literacy skills essential (Microsoft, emails and internet) however previous experience of working with GP IT systems not essential as full training will be given.

Person Specification



Experience working within the medical profession as an administrator or receptionist would be beneficial. Good telephone skills, organized, analytical and able to cope in a busy environment.

But we are also happy to take on the right person without any experience if you are willing to take on the challenge.

The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: 12.21 per hour

Schedule:

Day shift Monday to Friday
These role is 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday. We are open from 08.00 in the morning to 18:30 therefore the ability to be flexible to cover these hours is essential.
