Job Description

Churchside Medical Practice is a Doctors surgery based in the heart of Mansfield where we have been operating for over 20 years.

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team working on a part time basis (16 hours per week) as follows;
Monday - 1pm to 5pm
Wednesday - 8am to 12 noon
Thursday - 8am to 12 Noon
Friday - 2.30 to 6.30pm

A degree of flexibility is required to allow cover to colleagues annual leave/sickness.

Experience in this kind of role would be advantageous, however we are looking for the right candidate to fit in with the team and we can train you on the rest!

You must be able to deal with a high volume of people both face to face and over the telephone, have experience in a customer service capacity and have the ability to defuse situations amicably when needed. You should be organised and methodical as well as be able to communicate clearly at all levels, and be able to deal with patients whose first language may not be English. You should be able to demonstrate strong IT skills, be able to multitask and use your initiative. You must be a team player.

Brief Outline of Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner - Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries and requests - Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scanning documents - Ensure your working area and the waiting area is clean and organised
- Be able to chaperone a patient during their consultation if requested to do so

We are considering applicants from a variety of working backgrounds and therefore previous experience as a Medical Receptionist is not essential, however certain aspects of the roleoutlined above must be able to be demonstrated.
As a Medical Receptionist you are required to deal with a high volume of incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, dealing with patient requests and tasks from the Doctors, as well as helping to provide a patient focussed experience and assisting the full team to ensure the efficient operation of the surgery. Previous experience of SystmOne would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
