Background



Open Lens Media is a Development, Engagement, and Employability Social Enterprise. We utilise creative approaches in Media and Digital Technology to provide employability, educational, engagement, training, and community consultation services to young people and youth-focused agencies.

We specialise in working directly with children, young people, and young adults between the ages of 11-16, 17-24, and 25-35 stemming from disenfranchised and low socio-economic backgrounds.

Role Overview



We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and engaging individual to join our Programme Delivery team as a Programme Facilitator. In this varied and changemaking role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and impactful workshops, training sessions and events designed to empower and inspire young people and young adults. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the youth development of individuals across the West Midlands and contribute to the success of our youth centric 1 to 1, group based and social outreach initiatives.

Please note that travel is essential in this role, and candidates should be willing to travel or have their own transportation.

Responsibilities:



Programme Delivery:



? Facilitate, design, and deliver interactive and engaging workshops, training sessions, and events tailored to the needs and interests of our young people's needs.

? Create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and personal growth.

Youth Recruitment and Engagement:



? Develop and implement strategies to recruit young people onto our programmes, including outreach efforts, partnerships with schools and community organisations, and social media campaigns.

? Build relationships with youth participants, understanding their needs and interests, and providing guidance on programme offerings.

Community Advocacy:



? Advocate for youth issues and promote community awareness of our programmes through outreach activities, public speaking engagements, and participation in community events.

? Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify opportunities for advocacy and collective action on youth-related development.

Soft Skills and Employability Training:



? Design and deliver workshops and activities focused on developing soft skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.

? Provide coaching and support to participants in building confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.

? Support in the delivery of our creative employability programmes, facilitating sessions on CV writing, interview skills, job searching etc.

Educational Support:



? Collaborate with educators and mentors to provide tailored support to students with diverse learning needs.

Team Collaboration:



? Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of programme activities.

? Collaborate with internal and external partners, including mentors, educators, and community leaders, to enhance the impact of programmes.

Monitoring and Evaluation:



? Conduct ongoing evaluation of programme activities and participant progress, collecting feedback and insights for continuous improvement.

? Collaborate with the project team to assess the effectiveness and impact of programmes on youth development outcomes.

Documentation and Reporting:



? Maintain accurate records of programme activities, participant attendance, and feedback.

? Prepare regular reports on programme outcomes, achievements, and challenges for internal and external stakeholders.

Person Specification



You have a creative and innovative mindset with the ability to design and delivery engaging programmes. You are highly organised and passionate about youth development, creative approaches to learning and youth development. You are able to navigate challenges with a positive attitude and are solution oriented You have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team and possess a strong sense of initiative. You have demonstrable interest in youth development and social enterprise and possess good ethical standards. You are committed to working with integrity and transparency. You also possess strong teamwork, leadership, and people skills.

Qualifications and requirements



? Bachelor's degree in education, Media, Social Sciences, Youth Development, or a related field.

? Additional certification or training in facilitation, youth development or related areas are advantageous but not a must.

? This role requires an element of travel so having your own car is advantageous.

Experience



? Proven experience in programme facilitation, preferably in youth development or educational settings.

? Experience in recruiting and engaging young people onto programmes, either through outreach efforts, community partnerships, or other strategies.

? Demonstrated passion for youth advocacy and community engagement, with a commitment to promoting positive change through development.

Communication skills



? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young individuals.

? Strong presentation skills and the ability to convey information effectively to diverse audiences.

? Proven experience in identifying and establishing partnerships with organisations, institutions, and individuals that align with the social enterprise's mission.

? Collaborative mindset to work with partners in enhancing program delivery and creating expanded opportunities for youth engagement.

Team Collaboration



? Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and execution of program activities.

? Collaborative spirit in working with internal and external partners, including mentors, educators, and community leaders.

Adaptability and Resilience



? Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate challenges and maintain composure in dynamic environments.

? Ability to flexibly adjust programme delivery based on participant needs and feedback.

? Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

? Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy in programme documentation and reporting.
