Description
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Media and Content Manager - Global and Europe who is inspired to build and amplify word-class content, tied tightly to our vision, technology and business priorities. You are responsible to oversee and implement the overall media and external content initiatives globally and for Europe.
Responsibilities:
Build effective global and European media and external content strategies to support business objectives.
Identify earned media opportunities in key global and Europe media, manage media inquiries and media engagements.
Cultivate, maintain and expand network among global and European media contacts who regularly cover energy and proactively develop relationships.
Manage schedules and track upcoming opportunities for media engagement/outreach, develop content and ensure advance planning.
Create compelling media content (press releases, statements, op-eds, talking points, press kits, etc.), that can also be amplified across multiple communications channels.
Train, prepare spokespeople for media engagements incl. drafting briefing documents, talking points, key messages and facilitate prep sessions prior to each engagement.
Proactively pitch stories to media and secure placements in target media, act as company spokesperson as necessary.
Work closely and collaborate with peers and key stakeholders across the company, business units, regions and countries to ensure consistent strategies and messaging across the organization.
Oversee distribution, monitoring and regular reporting of results from media related initiatives.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry and key trends and make appropriate recommendations to continuously improve media relations strategies.
Manage and work with external PR agencies and partners as necessary.
Support special projects and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Masters or Bachelor\'s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing or other relevant related discipline.
Proven experiencrelevant international experience in public/media relations and content development, with proven track record of pitching and securing media coverage.
Experience with the energy sector, industry, technology.
Deep understanding of the global and European media landscape, current and developing strategies for communicating effectively in a continually and rapidly evolving media environment.
Experience building and nurturing relationships with key media outlets and influencers.
Exceptional English writing skills including drafting, editing and proofreading skills. Demonstrated ability to research, write, fact-check, and edit a variety of communication pieces for target audiences with minimal supervision.
Extensive experience in managing complex projects with multiple resources and stakeholders with ability to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines.
Ability to navigate a fast-paced, heavily matrixed global organization.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Fluency in English both spoken and written. Other European languages an added advantage
