Heavy manufacturing company based in Birmingham (B7) are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our established team of engineers and technicians, working on a day shift (Mon - Fri) in a continuous 24/7 process plant.
The Role:
- The individual will be required to maintain, repair and overhaul heavy industrial
equipment within a continuously operating manufacturing plant.
Contribute to identify and implement reliability continuous improvement
Have a proven background in the maintenance and repair of heavy industrial
process equipment to include pumps, motors, gearboxes, and conveyors.
Proficient in hydraulics, together with the ability to read schematic drawings and
fault find.
Knowledge of mounting and dismounting of large bearings.
The ability to fabricate and TIG weld an advantage.
The Candidate
Have completed a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship, qualified to
BTEC level 3 or equivalent. (HNC an advantage)
Mechanical experience gained within a process manufacturing industry.
To be able to work as part of a team bringing with them a proactive and positive
attitude.
To use own initiative to highlight potential issues and offer solutions.
Have a strong commitment to Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety
standards is essential.

Working Hours:
07:00-15:30 with 45 minute break: 38.75 hours working week
Call out and cover rota every 7 weeks.
