Overview:

Wattacurrent LTD is building an innovative hydropower device that can generate clean and renewable electricity while operating in rivers. As the company plans to ramp up building several products, it needs reliable engineers to assist building products, integrating electrical components and perform quality checks.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, simulations, and testing mechanical systems and internal components. This role involves working across all stages of product manufacturing, including engagement with third-party manufacturers to ensure high-quality products are built and integrated with electrical components.

Responsibilities



Perform full lifecycle product development, including design, prototyping, testing, and implementation. Design systems and components that meet project requirements and specifications. Conduct experiments, analyse data, and interpret results to improve designs. Collaborate with third-party manufacturers to ensure delivery of mechanical parts / products as per CAD designs. Identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring reliability and safety of designs and products. Verify electrical products integration and systems by performing quality checks. Test finished products and system capabilities. Understand complexity and validate components with required specifications are installed and integrated correctly. Identify, avoid and resolve electrical system problems with respect to the product. Ensure product adhere to electrical safety and quality requirements. Keep products operational. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to incorporate innovative solutions.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred). Proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on [specific industry, e.g., automotive, aerospace, manufacturing]. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, FreeCAD) and engineering FEA/FEM, Computational Fluid Dynamics and modelling tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB). Strong understanding of core concepts such as mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science. Knowledge of fluid mechanics, material properties, pressure applications and thermodynamics. Knowledge of welding, cutting, and precision measurement. Knowledge of metals and materials. Expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, electrical safety and quality management. Expertise in of electrical engineering, AC, DC Systems, Single phase, Three phase induction. AC-DC convertors, transformers, motors, battery storage and inverters is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of renewable energy and grid integration is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Strong problem solving, technical, math and science skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
